Using the latest European technology in recycling, Enka produces resins of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polypropylene (PP) and blends thereof, mainly used for parts injection. The EKO® Polyolefines have the following advantages: certified uniform quality, stable and homogeneous supply, and free of contaminants.
EKO®PE and EKO®PP resins complement our environmentally-friendly products and enhance our commitment and responsibility to the country and to new generations. Today, more than half of the products made by Enka derive from recovered raw materials, turning the Company into the leading PET recycler of Colombia; and processing more than 1 billion bottles per year, avoiding being dumped in rivers, beaches and fields.
Enka also manufactures its EKO®PET resin, a product designed to produce packages in contact with food and beverages. This resin is certified by Invima in Colombia, by the FDA in U.S.A., and by EFSA in the European Union; it is approved by the major bottlers of Colombia and worldwide.
With our three recycling plants, Enka offers significant benefits to the planet, by replacing raw materials from fossil fuels representing savings equal to the energy consumption of 295,000 homes; and a 72% reduction in CO2 emissions equivalent to removing 11,000 vehicles from the streets – while creating important benefits to thousands of recyclers in Colombia.
