Medellín, November 4th, 2025. Enka, a Colombian company with more than 60 years of experience and recognized for its leadership in the circular economy, will participate in Andina Pack 2025, which will take place at Corferias, Bogotá, from November 4 to 7.
For this edition, the company will present its portfolio of recycled resins under the EKO® brand, developed from the transformation of post-consumer PET bottles that meet the current industry requirements and regulations regarding collection, recovery, and reincorporation of recycled PET.
This portfolio includes EKO®PET resins, produced from the recycling of bottles and suitable for food contact, certified by Invima, the FDA, and registered with the European Commission. In addition, Enka completely closes the loop of this material by transforming the caps and labels into EKO®Polyethylene and EKO®Polypropylene resins for applications in flexible packaging, extrusion, and injection. These products are alternatives that contribute to reducing the use of petroleum-based raw materials and help decrease the environmental impact caused by plastic pollution. Currently, more than 76% of the company’s products are made from recycled raw materials, and 65% of its income comes from its Green Business line, demonstrating that the circular model is not only environmentally responsible but also competitive and sustainable.
With its four recycling plants, where it transforms more than 6 million PET bottles daily, Enka generates environmental benefits such as 92% energy savings, equivalent to the consumption of 600,000 households, and a 72% reduction in CO₂ emissions, equivalent to removing more than 21,000 vehicles from the streets. In addition, through its subsidiary Eko Red, the company operates the largest PET collection network in the country, with a presence in all 32 departments.
“At Enka, we arrive at Andina Pack with a clear purpose: to show that sustainability from within the industry is possible and becomes a reality when aligned with the highest technical, quality, and reliability standards. With our EKO® resin line, we have become the strategic ally for companies that want to accelerate their transition toward more sustainable production models and stay up to date with the new regulatory standards being implemented,” said Álvaro Hincapié, President of Enka.
As part of the fair, Enka will give the conference “From Waste to Resource: Regulations and Opportunities for Sustainable Packaging” on November 6 in Pavilion 3, Level 2 at Corferias, at 10:30 a.m. During this session, the main technical and regulatory challenges of recycling will be discussed, as well as the opportunities that arise for the PET packaging industry in Colombia, and how the path toward circularity—guided by experts and with high-value-added products—is indeed possible today.
Through its participation in Andina Pack 2025, Enka reaffirms its commitment to an industry that evolves toward circularity with technical rigor, innovation, and a long-term vision. Its model, based on waste recovery, full chain traceability, and the development of high-value materials, demonstrates that business competitiveness and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand, making the circular economy a reality.
